Tourism in Israel shows strong recovery
The recovery of incoming tourism in Israel continued this fall with the arrival of 333,500 tourists in October, compared to 57,000 during the same period one year ago.
Israel’s October visitors are only 25% less than the record 447,100 tourists that visited Israel in October 2019.
This year, between January and October, 2,078,000 international tourists entered Israel, an overall 45% drop from the figure that was reported for the same period in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the industry. Of these, 632,500 came from the United States.
At the present pace, Israel's Ministry of Tourism projects between 2.4 and 2.6 million tourist arrivals for the year.
Tourism in 2022 far outpaces the numbers recorded over the last two years, which were the years most affected by the pandemic.
