Police officers injured in stabbing attack in Jerusalem's Old City
Possible terror attack leaves two injured, access to Old City closed
A police officer was stabbed and another shot in Jerusalem's Old City on Thursday morning at Iron Gate near the Temple Mount in what Israeli news outlets are calling a terror attack.
Israel's Channel 12 reported that one of the two was hit by friendly fire aimed at the attacker. Both officers were treated at the scene then taken to a hospital.
Access to the Old City was shut down following the attack.
Yesterday, a Palestinian was shot and killed after he rammed his car into an Israeli soldier, exited the vehicle and then began to attack the downed soldier with an axe. The officer, who was seriously wounded, shot and killed the attacker. The attack took place at a checkpoint in Beit Horon.
