Bennett holds assessment on Gaza-Israel border
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett held an assessment of the situation at the IDF Gaza Division HQ, with the participation of Defense Minister Benny Gantz, IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi, head of the National Security Council Dr. Eyal Hulata, GOC Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Eliezer Toledano, Gaza Division Commander Brig.-Gen. Nimrod Aloni and additional senior officials.
Bennett met with soldiers from an Iron Dome battery and heard from them about their operational activity. He thanked them for their important actions on behalf of the security of the citizens of Israel, during routine and emergency, and noted that the State of Israel, including the IDF, is ready for any scenario.
"The goal of the visit here was to see the IDF, Southern Command and the Gaza Division making preparations and indeed they are prepared. Our mission is to provide long-term security for the residents of the south and of the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip," Bennett said. "We will take action at the time, place and under the conditions, that suit us, and nobody else. From our perspective, the address in Gaza is Hamas, not dissidents and not anybody else other than Hamas." (GPO)
