Israeli civilian killed by Hezbollah anti-tank missile fire near northern border
Israel conducts airstrikes on terror targets in southern Lebanon
An Israeli civilian was killed by an anti-tank missile fired by Hezbollah terrorists from southern Lebanon on Thursday afternoon, Israeli media reported.
The victim was a 60-year-old farmer who was driving his vehicle on a road close to the town of Mattat when he was hit.
Most of the roads near the Israeli-Lebanese border are closed for security reasons but farmers whose fields are otherwise inaccessible can get special permits, according to Israeli's local Kan news outlet
"The injured man was brought to us, unconscious, suffering from an injury to his upper body," Magen David Adom medical technician Ido Akiva said. "We checked him, unfortunately, he was without signs of life, and we had to determine his death."
The death of the Israeli civilian came amid an acceleration of the pace of attacks originating from Hezbollah on Thursday afternoon, as the terror group also fired two rocket barrages toward the area of Arab al-Aramshe shortly after.
This came after hours of relative quiet following an earlier rocket barrage at the area of Margaliot and mortar grenade fire at Ma’ayan Baruch in the morning. The terror group took responsibility for all five attacks against Israel.
The IDF said it attacked the launch areas of Hezbollah’s attacks with helicopter gunships, tanks and artillery fire.

Israel also conducted large-scale aerial strikes on terror targets in southern Lebanon. Footage circulating on Lebanese social media showed several enormous explosions in the village of Kounine.
Among the targets were terrorist infrastructures, launcher positions, military positions, and buildings belonging to Hezbollah.
On Thursday, the terror group announced the deaths of three more of its members, bringing the death toll to 92 since Oct. 7.
