Israel to file ICJ compliance report on Gaza humanitarian aid after 'genocide' accusation

Israel will reportedly file an official response to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague that it is complying with the court’s demands regarding humanitarian aid to Gaza, despite the ongoing war against the Hamas terror organization.

In January, the South African government publicly accused Israel of committing “genocide” in Gaza, in a case submitted to the ICJ. Israel has rejected the charge as politically motivated blood libel.

South Africa has close ties with Iran, which openly calls for the destruction of Israel and supports terror proxies, such as Hamas and Hezbollah. Some pundits have argued that South Africa is acting as a legal proxy on behalf of the Iranian regime.

“The State of Israel has signed the convention against genocide for decades, and we certainly do not boycott the discussion. We will stand by it and repel the absurd lawsuit that is a blood libel,” stated Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi.

While the ICJ did not completely embrace South Africa's position, it nevertheless ordered Israel to provide documentation within a month showing that it has complied with the court’s legislation on protecting Gazan civilians and does everything in its power to prevent genocide in Gaza.

Critics argue that the ICJ is a politically motivated court that ignores Israel’s considerable efforts to minimize civilian casualties, while Hamas terrorists seek to maximize both Israeli and Gazan civilian casualties.

The Biden administration has increasingly expressed concerns over the humanitarian aid situation in the Gaza Strip. However, U.S. State Department Spokesman Matt Miller stressed that Washington rejects the South African government's genocide charge against Israel.

“Genocide is one of the most heinous atrocities that any individual can commit. Those are allegations that should not be made lightly ... we are not seeing any acts that constitute genocide,” Miller said in January.

While the ICJ continues to probe the “genocide” charge against Israel, it ignores the Hamas Charter which calls for the elimination of Jews and the Jewish state.

Several other Western governments, including Germany, France and Great Britain, have rejected the genocide charge against Israel.

Germany, which is one of Israel’s main European allies, announced in January that it would defend Israel against the false charges presented by the South African government and reminded the public that Hamas started the war on Oct. 7.

“On October 7, 2003, Hamas terrorists brutally attacked, tortured, killed and kidnapped innocent people in Israel. Hamas’s goal is to wipe out Israel. Since then, Israel has been defending itself against the inhumane attack by Hamas.”

“The Federal Government firmly and expressly rejects the accusation of genocide that has now been made against Israel at the International Court of Justice. This accusation has no basis whatsoever,” the German statement read.

The ICJ dismissed South Africa’s request for urgent measures against Israel’s expected military operation in Rafah against the remaining Hamas terror forces. The ICJ argued that its previous ruling applies to all portions of the Gaza Strip, including Rafah.
