A single siren was triggered in the northern Israeli town of Talmei Elazar as a missile was launched from Yemen early Sunday morning by the Houthis, an Iranian-backed terror proxy in Yemen.

Israel Defense Forces confirmed the missile was intercepted before it entered Israeli airspace and that sirens were activated “according to protocol.”

Residents across central Israel, including areas surrounding Jerusalem, reported hearing explosions from intercepted threats, though no alarms were activated.

Last week, the Houthis launched several missiles targeting Tel Aviv. One missile fired on Monday prompted widespread sirens across central Israel, sending millions of people rushing into bomb shelters.

Large pieces of the intercepted missile fell in the central Israeli town of Beit Shemesh. While there were no casualties reported, Magen David Adom rescue services said one woman was taken to a hospital after "being lightly injured from a fall sustained while running to a shelter."

Another missile launched at Tel Aviv early on Friday morning sent residents into bomb shelters around 4 a.m. Alarms were sounded across central Israel, Jerusalem and surrounding areas, marking the first time a single missile triggered alarms in both Jerusalem and the Dan region.

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, vowed last Monday that "the Yemeni Houthi terrorists would share the fate of Hamas and Hezbollah if they do not stop attacking Israel."
