Fauda star and popular Israeli singer Idan Amedi performed on stage for the first time on Wednesday after being seriously injured in January 2024 while serving as a combat reservist with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Gaza fighting against Hamas terrorists.

Amedi addressed the 8,000 fans who attended his concert in the Israeli capital Jerusalem.

“I choose to tell you that tonight will move like this,” Amedi said. He addressed the contrasts that characterize Israeli society amid times of conflict.

“Between depths, between extremes, between cliffs – because that’s exactly what this land is. Exposed and beautiful, painful and pure, divided yet whole. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned this past year, it’s to cherish the moment, the now – because nothing else exists. So, thank God I’m here,” Amedi continued.

The singer had reserved a VIP section for the female IDF lookout soldiers who were recently released from Hamas captivity in Gaza.

“I love you, and I’m so glad you’re home,” Amedi told them.

The emotional singer revealed that following his serious injury he had written a “will for his children” while putting his daughter Yael to sleep.

“I’m writing these words months before this first show,” his letter read. “With a million questions about how to even stand on a stage again… Thank you for being here.”

In December, Amedi released “Superman,” his first single since sustaining the serious injuries in Gaza. The lyrics, which are deeply personal, included the line "I’m no longer afraid to die." Following a long and difficult recovery process, Amedi thanked all the people that had supported him.

“After the darkness I’ve experienced, a thousand abysses, I want to thank everyone who took part in the long process I’ve gone through this past year – in the hospital, in rehab, in the studio, and at home. Even though there are no supermen in real life, you are the closest that I’ve ever met. I dedicate this song to the memories of my friends Alexei, Akiva, Gavriel, and Eliran [fellow soldiers killed in Gaza]. You’re in my thoughts every day,” Amedi wrote on in a social media post.

Last July, Amedi emphasized that the Oct 7, 2023, trauma taught him that life is a miracle that should not be taken for granted.

"Reminding myself that everything is a miracle. Nothing in this life should be taken for granted," he argued

"We all learned this the hard way over the past year. This land, its people, the sense of security, while moments, sunrise, sunset, a mother's excitement over her 35-year-old son's simple walk for a few meters. Nothing is to be taken for granted. Everything is a world unto itself,” he added.

Following the Oct. 7 attack, Amedi has called on the Israeli people to unite and put their differences behind them.

“I join my brother reservists in calling on the politicians, all the media outlets, and everyone: Whoever doesn’t have something good to say, simply shut your mouths. The people of Israel live,” Amedi stated.

In addition to his musical career, Amedi enjoys acting. His role as the counterterrorist operative “Sagi” in the popular Israeli thriller series “Fauda" has garnered much praise.

Fauda producers confirmed in January 2024 that the upcoming season five would be influenced by the ongoing war between Israel and the Iranian-backed terrorist militia Hamas.
