BREAKING: Bennett to meet with Biden next week
Israel's Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is expected to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden in Washington D.C. next week.
“We are supposed to go to the U.S., pending the coronavirus situation,” Bennett said during a press conference this afternoon. “It’s an important meeting with President Biden – and the central topic of conversation is Iran.”
Bennett will raise Israel's concerns and the need for “countering Iran’s malign activities in the region, its harm to human rights and its move closer to obtaining nuclear weapons.”
Israeli media is reporting the news of the possible first meeting between the two leaders since Israel formed its new government in June and Bennett became prime minister in a power-sharing rotation with Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
