Protesting without understanding why

You would think that anyone who puts in the effort to protest daily, for hours on end, and display the passion by screaming to the top of their lungs, would be well-versed on the subject for which they are advocating – able to argue for its merits and competent enough to state a reasonable and justifiable case.

Well, that’s what you would think, but that’s not what is happening. Fox News reporter, Sara Carter, on behalf of Sean Hannity, in her quest to hear directly from protesters, went to the site of Columbia University where they were gathered to interview them. In an attempt to inquire as to their reasons and demands for the demonstration, already in progress, Carter was met mostly with silence, but in the end, a few agreed to speak to her.

Hearing the chants, “Disclose, Divest,” Carter asked what does that mean? No one responded. When she told one protester that Hamas attacked Israeli women and children, but not the IDF, the response was, “That’s what Israel sources say,” to which Carter said, “That’s what’s been documented.” Interviewing another protester, Sara asked, “What does from the river to the sea mean?” The answer given was, “It means that Israel wants to be autonomous.” But pressing her further, Carter asked, “What river and what sea?”

Puzzled over the question, the young woman could only come up with an explanation of it being a river “beside Israel in the Palestinian territories.” Carter finally provided her with the information - Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea – giving her the full context of a Palestinian state, replacing the State of Israel. Somehow, though, it failed to compute.

When asking a third protester if Israel had a right to defend itself. The response was to deflect and talk about the rights of Palestinians, but Carter brought it right back to focus on whether Hamas has a right to dismember babies and put them in ovens. The predictable answer was: “That never happened.”

One final protester was heard shouting, “Bomb Israel.”

Sean Hannity, incredulously asked: “How is it possible that Columbia University, an Ivy League school who accepts only the best and the brightest minds has students who say, “That never happened?”

Herein is the clever strategy. No one has to defend Hamas terrorists for the brutal and savage massacre which they, themselves documented on their own body cams, if protesters and agitators cling to the only winning card in their hand – “It never happened.” The tactic to deny and refuse documented footage of atrocities, which were committed, allows them to perpetrate the delusion, disseminate the lie and ignore all damning facts. Because the moment they are acknowledged, that is the moment which identifies them as supporters of terror, murder, rape and torture – crimes which no one can claim are justifiable. Hence, the reason they lie, and are able to align with hate, simply by saying that everything is fabricated.

But just like Holocaust denial, you cannot ignore the vast amounts of evidence, as well as the victims who suffered through these events, because recorded footage does not lie, nor eyewitnesses who were fortunate enough to escape the terrorists. They know what they saw and what happened to their friends who are no longer able to speak for themselves. Even residents of Gaza know and saw, with their own eyes, what happened when some of these captives were paraded through the streets of Gaza to be spit upon and further abused.

Very early on, just one month after the October 7th attack, reporters questioned UCLA students, who were already sympathizing with Hamas, if they understood the conflict. Two students candidly admitted that they were not sure of any of the facts and could not answer with any real accuracy. The interview was aired on FOX News' program, "The Five."

Co-host Jessica Tarlov acknowledged that many of the kids are there protesting to hang out with their friends, simply because it’s a cool thing to do and not because they are informed or understand what’s going on.

Similarly, British author and conservative political commentator, Douglas Murray expressed the same sentiments, while in Jerusalem, on November 12th when he appeared on Fox & Friends, stating that “the protests are a demonstration of incredible ignorance.” Douglas explained that the protests are made up of two types of people – Muslims who are quick to jump on Israel but who never defend their own people when they are persecuted and the Far Left who employ labels of Colonialism to Israel – all attesting to the ignorance of both groups.

But now, a third group has emerged, and they are identified as professional agitators whose aim is to sow seeds of anarchy in the country they hate.

Within Our Lifetime is a massively organized network which has coordinated the “blocking of highways, delaying of trains and the shutting down of college campuses across the country for the past few months. The NYC-based pro-Palestine group is led by Nerdeen Kiswani, a 29-year-old who founded the group nearly a decade ago to build a community for young people who want to raise awareness about the Palestinian cause. Coordination is done through such apps as Telegram, WhatsApp and Instagram.”

Other groups organizing these protests include Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) and American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) is yet another group. But organizing and mobilizing young people isn’t enough. These groups must be funded in order to garner support and even pay participants. It is reported that the “Rockefeller Brothers Fund donated $100,000 to If Not Now, yet another pro-Palestinian group, over the past five years.”

Another source of funding comes from the “Soros Open Society Foundation, which has put $700,000 into Education for Just Peace in the Middle East since 2018.”

So, is it any surprise that lazy, uninformed kids, with nothing to do, are willing to get in on a trendy, money-making scheme where they can hang out with their friends, look cool and pocket a few bucks all at the same time? Having received no morals, values or ethics, from either parents or schools, it makes it all the more understandable as to why they are willing to jump on a bandwagon of anarchy promoters. It beats working hard to make something of themselves.

The only real drawback to their participation is the moment they are asked to respond to a question by a curious reporter, trying to find out why they are protesting. Lucky for us, when that happens, they are openly revealed as the useful idiots who care nothing about Gaza, know squat about Israel and only embarrass themselves by displaying their insincerity and ignorance towards a cause which cannot be defended.
