BBC News coverage of terrorism in Israel - March 2025

The Israel Security Agency’s report on terror attacks during March 2025 shows that a total of 441 incidents took place in Judea & Samaria, Jerusalem and within the ‘green line’. The agency recorded 50 attacks with petrol bombs, 17 attacks using pipe bombs, 345 incidents of rock throwing, one shooting attack, 24 arson attacks, one vehicular attack, one combined attack and two stabbing attacks.

77 attacks were thwarted through-out the month and 424 terror related arrests were made.

In addition, the report records fifteen missiles launched into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip and nine missiles launched from Lebanon or Syria throughout March. The ISA report does not include casualties from attacks related to Operation Swords of Iron or Operation Northern Arrows.

Two civilians were murdered and fourteen people were injured in attacks in Judea & Samaria, Jerusalem and inside the ‘green line’ during March.

On March 3rd a civilian was murdered and four others were wounded in a stabbing attack in Haifa which was reported on the BBC News website.

combined vehicular and shooting attack at HaTishbi Junction on March 24th in which one civilian was murdered and one member of the security forces was wounded received two sentences of coverage in a BBC report on a different topic.

Incidents which did not receive any coverage on the BBC News website include the following:

Two civilians were injured in rock throwing attacks near Husan on March 1st and March 6th. On March 12th a civilian was wounded in a shooting attack near Ariel. One person was injured in an assault near Maale Amos on March 13th. On March 21st a member of the security forces was wounded in a shooting attack in Balata and on the same day a member of the security forces was injured in a rock throwing attack in Jerusalem. Another rock throwing attack near Husan on March 28th resulted in one woman being wounded.

Throughout the first quarter of 2025 the BBC News website reported 0.4% of the terror attacks which took place and 70% of the fatalities.
