Shalom, I'm Kayla Sprague and I want to welcome you to this week's ALL ISRAEL Prayer Points.
Today we're here at one of the hostage and missing families forum tents outside of Prime Minister Netanyahu's residence here in Jerusalem.
They have been faithfully advocating and standing on behalf of the hostages here for over 15 months now.
We're immensely grateful for you and your faithful love for God, His people, and this land for such a time as this.
Right now, Israel is at a critical juncture for the hostages, and I want to share some specific ways that we as believers can stand in the gap in intercession together.
A scripture God's put on my heart and reminded me of this week is Isaiah 43:19. "Behold, I'm doing a new thing. Now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness. I will make streams of water in the desert."
We're asking God to make a way in an area that has felt like the wilderness, freedom for the 98 remaining hostages who have been captive for 462 days.
President Trump will take office in the U .S. in less than two weeks, and he has made very direct threats to Hamas if there's not a hostage deal before he is sworn in.
Will you join me in prayer right now?
We're at a crossroads of history, and I want us to focus our prayers on these critical points together.
Let's pray for progress in the hostage negotiations.
As President Trump has increased pressure on Hamas, this could open up opportunities that we have not seen in over a year.
Let's pray for the hostage families who have endured deep grief and prolonged waiting.
We ask the God of comfort to be near the brokenhearted.
We especially pray for the family of Youssef and his son Hamza, whose bodies were recovered in Gaza this week.
Pray for the remaining living hostages to have strength to endure the unimaginable situation, and the God of hope to give them belief for freedom.
Pray for discernment and wisdom for Israel's leaders as they're faced with difficult decisions in the coming days.
And ultimately, let's pray for the will of God to be done above all in the midst of these complex times.
As believers, we know that our ultimate trust isn't in the government or policies or even our army, but we fully trust in the Lord. I'm reminded of this in Psalm 20, some trust in chariot, some trust in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
We also know that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Your prayers matter.
So what other scriptures are you praying over the hostages this week?
Share them in the comments below so that we can join our faith together from different corners of the earth.
