Shofar blowers at synagogues should have had third COVID shot, health ministry
Ahead of the Rosh Hashanah holiday – known in the Bible as the Feast of Trumpets – Israel's Health Ministry said the person blowing the shofar during services should have had his COVID booster shot.
In addition, the shofar should also be pointed toward an open window when blown, the ministry added.
The ministry recommended that all leaders of religious services have received a third vaccine dose and wear masks during the services.
Rosh Hashanah began on Monday evening.
