New poll following passing of Reasonableness Bill suggests Gantz's National Unity would become largest party
Former defense minister's party surpasses Likud with some 30 seats if elections were held today
A new poll published by Channel 13 on Tuesday shows Benny Gantz's National Unity party would emerge as the largest party, with some 30 seats if elections were held today.
The coalition government currently holds a 64-seat majority in the 120-seat Knesset, or parliament.
The opposition, however, has reportedly been gaining strength at the expense of the coalition parties.
By contrast, Netanyahu’s Likud party’s mandate would shrink to 25 seats. Overall, the coalition’s current 64-seat majority would shrink to 52 seats. In contrast, the current opposition would rise to a 63-seat majority.
