Israel reported 8,646 positive cases of COVID yesterday – highest in six months

COVID infections continue to climb in Israel. The 8,646 positive test results yesterday represent Israel's highest daily tally since February. Some 143,000 Israelis got tested yesterday, the highest numbers of tests in a single day since the beginning of the outbreak.
With a 6.2% positive rate, the fourth wave does not appear to be slowing down.
A total of 926 patients are currently hospitalized – 559 in serious condition.
Meanwhile, Israel continues to vaccinate at a rapid pace. Yesterday more than 100,000 shots were administered including 88,871 people who received the third vaccine dose.
