Iranian exhibition advocates nuclear destruction of Israel
Visiting Lebanese-Israel border, Iranian foreign minister says 'positive developments in the region will lead to the collapse of the Zionist entity'
The Iranian regime organized an exhibition in the Afghan city of Herat in April, calling for “nuclear extinction” of the Jewish state. The exhibition was part of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s month-long Al-Quds Day celebrations. Al Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem.
Ruhollah Khomeini, the first leader of the Islamic regime in Iran, established Al-Quds Day in 1979 as a call for the liberation of Jerusalem and to express support for Palestinians in their conflict against Israel and the Jewish nation.
Jason Brodsky, policy director for the organization United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), told the Jerusalem Post that the exhibition was an example of the Iranian regime’s export of malicious Jew-hatred.
“This exhibition is an example of the Iranian regime's exporting of its antisemitic ideology. There is a permissive environment in Afghanistan for the Iranian system to do so now, especially with the Taliban in charge, and there are natural linkages to the Hazara community, which have a significant presence in Herat," said Brodsky.
He stressed that the anti-Semitic ideology of the regime does not reflect the views of ordinary Iranian citizens.
"These Cultural Centers are not spreading the views of the Iranian people, but of the Islamic Republic, and it is part of a drive for recruitment, incitement, and influence.“
In a recent panel discussion, Tehran University’s Prof. Sadegh Zibakalam said that most Iranians are opposed to the ayatollah regime’s commitment to the Jewish state’s destruction.
“Let’s have a public opinion poll. IRNA, ISNA – all those regime outlets – can conduct it. If 50%-plus-one person of the Iranians say ‘yes,’ then, by all means, we should annihilate Israel. But I completely believe that not even 10% would say they want to annihilate Israel,” Zibakalam said earlier this month.
He further condemned the Iranian regime for its self-declared mission to wipe Israel off the map.
“You people say that you are on a mission to annihilate Israel. Who gave you this mission? The Quran? God? The Prophet? The constitution? Who?”
He also stressed that the conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbors is not Iran’s business.
Visiting the border between Lebanon and Israel on Friday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said “positive developments in the region will lead to the collapse of the Zionist entity.”
