Iran rejects Arab world’s Gaza plan, calls for Israel’s destruction through 'one-state solution'

The Iranian regime has rejected the Arab world’s Gaza reconstruction plan that was presented last week at a summit in Cairo. Addressing the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Friday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi articulated Tehran’s opposition to the internationally favored two-state solution.
“With due respect to the views of some brotherly countries on the two-state solution, the Islamic Republic of Iran maintains its view that this solution will not lead to the realization of the right of the Palestinian people,” Araqchi stated. Instead, Iran’s top diplomat openly called for the destruction of the State of Israel through the so-called “one democratic state” proposal.
“In our view, ‘one democratic state’ representing all the original inhabitants of Palestine is the only viable solution,” Araqchi argued.
The purpose of the “one-state” plan is to transform Israel from a Jewish-majority country into a Muslim Arab majority-society, where the Israeli Jewish population is either expelled or subjected to despotic Islamic rule as a minority.
Iran’s foreign minister also called for the expulsion of Israel from the United Nations.
“Given the Israeli regime’s persistent defiance of the UN Charter, its designation of the UN Secretary-General as persona non grata, the complete obstruction of UNRWA’s operations, and the unprecedented tragic loss of hundreds of UN staff in Palestine, it is imperative to continue our endeavors for Israeli regime’s expulsion from the United Nations,” Arqchi said, pledging Tehran’s “uncompromising support” for the “cause of Palestine.”
The Islamic regime in Tehran is ideologically opposed to Israel’s existence and has invested billions of dollars in its clandestine nuclear weapons program and regional terrorist proxies such as Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis in Yemen.
The Iranian diplomat consequently expressed Iran’s opposition towards recognizing the “Zionist regime,” claiming that Tehran “earnestly hopes that this auspicious meeting will inspire the international community to take meaningful action to advance justice and peace for the people of Palestine. May this gathering be a renewed commitment to their honorable cause.”
Iranian state-controlled media fully published the Iranian foreign minister’s speech, which underlines the importance that the ayatollah regime attributes to these Islamic international forums. The Iranian regime has for decades exploited the Middle East conflict as a political and ideological tool to advance its influence across the Middle East and the wider Islamic world.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry recently also rejected the Arab Gaza plan, arguing it “fails to address the realities of the situation following October 7th, 2023.” The Egyptian-led Arab Gaza plan does not call for the dismantling and disarmament of the terrorist organization Hamas, which openly calls for Israel’s destruction. The foreign ministry in Jerusalem further argued that “the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA – Both have repeatedly demonstrated corruption, support for terrorism, and failure in resolving the issue.”
The U.S. Trump administration has also dismissed the Arab Gaza proposal, arguing it “does not address the reality that Gaza is currently uninhabitable and residents cannot humanely live in a territory covered in debris and unexploded ordnance.”
The Egyptian-led Arab Gaza plan is meant as an alternative to Trump’s unconventional Gaza plan, which calls for a complete reconstruction of Gaza and resettlement of its population in Arab or Muslim nations.
The Arab world has largely rejected the Trump plan and refuses to accept Gazan refugees.
“These are dark days. There is shock and concern following Trump's words,” an Arab diplomat told Israeli Kan News in February. “This is the negotiating method of a real estate man, not a statesman. Migration is a red line and there is no room for thinking about it."
