Hezbollah chief Nasrallah hits back at IDF Intel head amid rising regional tensions
Maj.-Gen. Haliva recently warned that a seemingly overconfident Hezbollah could unintentionally trigger a major regional war
Hezbollah terror chief Hassan Nasrallah responded on Thursday to the head of Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate, Maj.-Gen. Aharon Haliva, at the “Day of Resistance” event, marking 23 years since Israel withdrew its forces from southern Lebanon.
"You are not the ones threatening war, it is us who do so," said Nasrallah.
"And any such war will include all of Israel's borders," warned the Hezbollah chief, adding that "any wrong action in Palestine, Syria or Iran could lead to a major war."
Haliva recently warned that a seemingly overconfident Hezbollah could unintentionally trigger a major regional war between the Jewish state, Iran and its terror proxies such as Hezbollah.
“Nasrallah is close to making a mistake that could plunge the region into a big war. He is close to making this mistake from Lebanon or Syria,” said the IDF military chief.
Nasrallah claimed that Israel’s military “withdrawal from Lebanon in 2000 – and the withdrawal from Gaza – the concept of 'Greater Israel' no longer exists.”
“Today, it hides behind walls of fire and is unable to impose its terms in any negotiations with the Palestinians,” the Hezbollah chief continued. “American hegemony no longer exists in the world, and the mentality in the Arab world has shifted, and this is what worries Israel.”
Hezbollah has presented itself as the defender of Lebanon against Israel, despite ordinary Lebanese citizens increasingly blaming the Tehran-backed terror group Hezbollah for much of the nation’s socio-economic collapse.
Much like the Iranian ayatollah regime’s anti-Israel rhetoric, Nasrallah openly called for Israel’s destruction during his speech on Thursday.
"We have hope to liberate Palestine, to pray in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to get rid of the occupying entity,” he stated.
