Coronavirus Cabinet to convene tomorrow, new restrictions expected regarding travel abroad
The Cabinet will be presented with an orderly and comprehensive action plan in response to the outbreak of the Delta variant in Israel.
Initially the Ministry of Health was pushing for a mandatory weeklong quarantine for all incoming travelers, apparently as a deterrent against travel abroad, but according to Hebrew media reports this afternoon this demand will be dropped.
More countries are expected to be added to the no-fly list.
In addition, while the new "happy pass" went into effect last night, Health Ministry Director General Prof. Nachman Ash already stated in an interview this morning that it's not a sufficient measure. Nonetheless, there's no plan currently to extend the green pass to events under 100 people.
