CIA director to arrive in Israel tomorrow, likely to discuss Iran nuclear program
The director of the Central Intelligence Agency is heading to Israel on Tuesday where he will reportedly meet with Mossad Director David Barnea, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and other defense officials, Israeli media reported.
Bill Burns' three-day visit comes amid reports that the U.S. is considering its next steps as talks to revive the nuclear deal have stalled.
Bloomberg reported that the U.S. is considering an offer to ease sanctions if Iran freezes uranium enrichment.
Last week, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz warned that Iran is just 10 weeks away from producing material that would enable it to develop a nuclear bomb.
“Therefore, it is time to act. The world must apply economic sanctions and take operative action against Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,” he said at the time, adding that Israel reserves the right to act as it sees best.
