22 launches detected in latest Hezbollah rocket barrage on Israel’s northern border
In the latest Hezbollah rocket barrage on Israel’s northern border on Monday afternoon, authorities detected 22 rocket launches.
Of those launches, four were intercepted by Iron Dome air defense systems, while 18 landed in open areas after the system determined they were not heading toward populated areas.
This follows the large barrage of about 60 rockets yesterday, during an IDF drill to prepare for operations on the northern front.
Hezbollah fired several significant rocket barrages on Wednesday and Thursday last week. So far, the group has refrained from opening a second front in the war, as Hamas had hoped, instead contenting itself with sporadic rocket, artillery, mortar and drone attacks against Israel’s northern communities.
With diplomatic efforts to resolve the situation producing little visible progress, the Israeli army is preparing for an escalation of hostilities.
