Let’s listen to what Palestinians are saying

My first impulse, when I received a YouTube clip entitled, “Israelis Must Listen to the Other Side,” was to delete it and chalk it up to some misguided individual who believes that there is a redeeming message among the people who largely reject the legitimacy of Israel and support its demise.

I couldn’t have been more mistaken, because once I began to listen to the presentation, given by Israeli tour guide Oren Cahanovitc, I realized that his clip title was not how I initially interpreted it but, rather, an appeal to pay attention to the words being publicly spoken by Palestinians, as opposed to attempting to obscure them in favor of camouflaging a really noxious cause.

He begins by introducing the voices of Palestinian mothers, all of whom are saying the same thing. Each one of them lives for the day that her son can be hailed a hero, in the name of Islamic jihad (holy war) for having sacrificed his life to kill Jews. Mother after mother is heard, expressing this desire, explaining that this is the reason why they have so many children – in order to offer them up as martyrs for Allah.

Cahanovitc, the son of Jewish Israelis, knows only too well, that no Jewish mother would ever be heard saying such a thing. Quite the opposite. The huge difference between these mothers is that one lives to see her son die, while the other would die to make sure her son lives. But this is not the only stark difference. Most Jewish children are educated and encouraged by their parents to excel in making a good life for themselves and their eventual families. There is an old joke that the brightest and most successful Jewish children go on to become doctors or lawyers, while the failures go on to become accountants.

It's true, Jewish parents love to “kvell” (proudly boast) over their kids’ success and good fortune, while Palestinian parents send their children to schools and summer camps that train them for warfare with Jews in the hope of dying after killing as many of them as possible. That is what brings great joy to these families, whose children served their purpose in obediently doing what they were sent to accomplish and for the twisted ideals to which they dedicated their lives.

From there, the clip goes on to speak about the absolute intolerance by Palestinians towards other religions. As different individuals speak, each one defines anyone whose beliefs differ from Islam, as atheists and infidels, who must not be permitted to embrace another faith since no other has any legitimacy. Of course, the Jews are a cut above everyone else in being the worst of the worst. For them, only death is a fitting end.

It is here where Cahanovitc insinuates that this crucial religious conflict has been purposely hidden and replaced, by most media, as a conflict which, instead, has its real basis in a land dispute. He says it’s important to understand this because, in this religious battle, the West is next in line as the goal of Islam is to convert each person to the only true faith. In fact, one speaker defiantly says that there is no other alternative, reducing the world to a battlefield that must be completely conquered.

In short, their goal is not just to eliminate the Jews and turn the whole of Israel into Palestine, but, rather, to reform a dark and depraved world by bringing them to the light of Islam. Of course, as one masked speaker says, “this includes all Christians,” because, as he goes on to say, “it’s the only religion which has compassion.” Apparently, their dictionary defines the word much differently from its meaning, which has no association with killing those who will not agree to forced conversion.

The clip then pivots to a glimpse of how young children are indoctrinated, both through the hateful ideology as well as the practical instruction of the use of weapons even at a tender age. It is truly no wonder that, given the non-stop brainwashing they received, without any chance of being exposed to other points of view, that they turn out as they do – unconscionable robots who are, on command, ready to go for the kill. It’s very much the stuff of AI. Just program them the way you want, give the orders and let them loose. Never having learned to think for themselves or question authority, they are the willing puppets whose destinies have been pre-determined from conception, as they believe they are bringing honor to themselves and their families.

The final word, of each speaker, is that they will NEVER recognize Israel. In other words, there is no confusion or evasion as it relates to their real intent, so for those who still cling to the false and delusionary hope of two states for two peoples, it would benefit them to really listen wholeheartedly to what Palestinians are saying.

Eliot Penn, CIO of Israeli investment firm, Geshem Partners, made an interesting observation in his article entitled, “Extreme global pressure.” He recalls a disturbing comment which was shouted at a Jewish group, whom he was accompanying during a trip abroad. A protester shouted; “Go back to Auschwitz!”

As upsetting as the vicious remark was, Penn said that this particular person stated exactly what he thought. As he put it, “Too many other anti-Israel protesters want the same thing but obfuscate their messages behind false veneers to make them palatable to Western tastes.”

This was likely the motive behind Oren Cahanovitc – to expose the truth directly from their mouths and candidly represent the Palestinian message, which they are unapologetically, speaking rather than the false and humane-sounding pretexts that are being offered by a dishonest media and an ignorant segment of the population who has neither been exposed to clips such as these nor has ever met a true Palestinian or had a conversation with them.

This misinformed sector includes organizations such as the UN, governmental agencies, political figures, the media, academia, the Vatican, activist-based humanitarian groups and so many others, all of whom probably know the deadly agenda and don’t care, since they are complicit in its goals, or who naively and foolishly believe that Palestinians are merely the victims of injustice and, if given what they claim was taken from them, would happily live peaceably with their Jewish neighbors.

This video clip belies such a fallacious hypothesis – assumptions that have no basis in truth, reality or their own word!

It is, indeed, time for everyone (not just Israelis) to listen to “the other side” in order to educate themselves on what the Palestinian message really is promoting. Because it just might be enough of a shocking wake-up call to put everyone on notice that defending their side is simply indefensible.
