As battle for public opinion intensifies, Israel processes a record 2,050 international journalists

The Israeli Government Press Office (GPO) has processed a record 2,050 international journalists since the beginning of Israel’s Iron Swords military campaign in response to Hamas' massacre of over 1,400 Israelis and foreign nationals on Oct. 7.

The number of journalists actively covering the ongoing war is roughly double the amount of media officials who covered the Operation Protective Edge conflict between Hamas and Israel in 2014.

GPO Director Nitzan Chen said his organization provides journalists with a transparent view of the Hamas atrocities committed against Israeli civilians.

"From the moment they are processed until they leave, the GPO provides journalists with all of the horrors, the testimony, the pictures and the voices, all in order to prove the absolute justice of Israel in this war on the world's media platforms," Chen said.

The largest amount of international journalists hail from Western powers, such as the United States, France, United Kingdom and Germany. However, journalists from countries such as Turkey, Canada, India, Russia, China, Argentina, Italy and the Scandinavian countries, also cover the conflict between Hamas and Israel.

Despite its own ongoing war with Russia, Ukraine has dispatched two journalists to cover the Hamas-Israel war.

The Israeli government’s decision to process the unprecedented number of journalists appears to be linked to a “Holocaust denial-like phenomenon” in regards to the brutal Hamas massacres of Israeli civilians on Oct. 7.

Israeli government Spokesman Eylon Levy stressed the importance of refuting Hamas’ attempts to manipulate world opinion by covering up their war crimes against Israeli civilians.

“As we work to defeat the terror organization, we are witnessing a Holocaust denial-like phenomenon evolving in real-time as people are casting doubt on the magnitude of the atrocities Hamas committed against our people and in fact recorded in order to glorify this violence,” Levy stated

Hamas terrorists initially proudly livestreamed their brutal massacres of Israeli civilians, including women, children, babies and elderly Holocaust survivors. However, following an international public relations backlash, Hamas has tried to cover up its unprecedented war crimes.

On Oct. 9, Doctor Basem Naim, the head of Political and International Relations for Hamas, brazenly lied during a Sky News interview, denying that Hamas terrorists murdered Israeli civilians.

“We have not killed any civilians, Nam told Sky News journalist Mark Austin. The British journalist appeared genuinely flabbergasted that the Hamas official dismissed the overwhelming evidence as “Israeli propaganda.”

However, during the interview, the senior Hamas official admitted that Hamas does not define Israeli “settlers” as civilians.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Osama Hamdan, a senior spokesperson for Hamas, reiterated the same claim.

“You have to differentiate between settlers and civilians,” Hamdan said.

“We are not targeting civilians on purpose. We have declared settlers are part of the occupation and part of the armed Israeli force. They are not civilians,” he added.

Israel initially refrained from releasing the most graphic images of the unprecedented lethal Hamas rampage across southern communities in Israel.

However, fearing the effects of Hamas propaganda efforts to deny the heinous acts committed by the terror group, the Israeli government gathered some 200 journalists and showed them a 43-minute video of uncut bodycam footage recovered from Hamas terrorists who have since been captured or eliminated.
