The anti-Israel organization Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) announced on Thursday that it has filed a complaint in Sweden against an Israeli soldier from the IDF's Nahal Brigade, currently visiting the country, for “war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.”

"He may leave the country soon, we demand his immediate arrest," the HRF stated.

“According to eyewitnesses and journalists, civilians – including women and children – were killed in such actions,” the organization claimed, adding that the Nahal Brigade took part in a military operation in the Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

HRF filed its complaints based on photos and videos posted by IDF soldiers on social media. The complaint in Sweden is part of a wider global campaign to arrest Israeli soldiers while they travel overseas.

HRF has, so far, filed at least 12 complaints against IDF soldiers worldwide, including Brazil, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Belgium, The Netherlands, Serbia, Ireland and Cyprus.

In December, the IDF began cautioning its combat soldiers against international travel due to the activities of anti-Israel organizations like HRF. While soldiers are allowed to travel abroad, the IDF conducts a “risk assessment” for IDF soldiers before their travel.

The Hind Rajab Foundation, a Belgium-based organization established in 2024, presents itself as a human rights organization, however, NGO Monitor has linked the organization’s chairman Dyab Abou Jahjah to terrorism support, antisemitism and homophobia. The HRF website claims it is “devoted to breaking the cycle of Israeli impunity and honoring the memory of Hind Rajab and all those who have perished in the Gaza genocide.”

The five-year-old Gazan girl, Hind Rajab, was reportedly killed in Gaza in January 2024 when she and her family were vacating Gaza City during the fighting between Hamas terrorists and Israeli forces. Anti-Israel activists blame the Israeli military for her death. However, the IDF denies that it killed the girl, arguing that no IDF troops were present in the area at the time of Rajab’s death.

Brazil recently ordered that an Israeli tourist be investigated for alleged “war crimes.” The suspect is an Israeli combat soldier and survivor of the Hamas attack at the Nova Festival on Oct. 7, 2023, Ynet News reported.

As in Sweden and other countries, the investigation in Brazil is based on a complaint filed by the Hind Rajab Foundation.

“Any country that has signed the statute is compelled to ensure that crimes such as war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide must be investigated and their perpetrators must be brought to justice,” a Brazilian lawyer told Ynet.

The Israeli military recently announced plans to conceal the identities of IDF combat soldiers ranked brigadier general and below, citing growing legal threats against soldiers who are in battle against terrorists in Gaza and other locations.
