Exciting close to the loop: Ori Megidish – IDF soldier rescued from Hamas captivity – returns to military service today
Megidish was rescued by the IDF and Shin Bet after 23 days in Gaza
Cpl. Ori Megidish will return to her army service in the Israeli Intelligence Corps on Monday.
Megidish was rescued in a military operation by the IDF and the Shin Bet, after she was kidnapped on Oct. 7 by Hamas terrorists from the Nahal Oz army base, where she served as an observation soldier. The decision to return to service stemmed from Megidish's personal desire and sense of mission to serve the state.
About two months ago, the IDF spokesperson released a video of Megidish, in which she talked about the abduction, her captivity and called for the return of the hostages still being held in Gaza.
"Since I was rescued by the IDF and the Shin Bet from Hamas captivity, so many things have happened in my life but my girlfriends are still being held in Gaza," Megidish said.
"Hamas kidnapped us from the base while some of us were still wearing pajamas. They murdered my best friends and many others," she added.
