After Hezbollah rockets damage IDF position, Israel retaliates 'very aggressively' in southern Lebanon
Hezbollah has now fired over 1,000 projectiles at Israel since Oct. 8
The Lebanese terror organization Hezbollah seriously damaged an IDF position with heavy rockets on Monday, as the skirmishes at Israel's northern border continue at levels just below the threshold of a full-blown war.
Hezbollah fired two heavy-weight “Burkan” rockets, each carrying warheads of hundreds of kilograms, and hit an IDF base in Biranit, causing a fire and substantial damage, but no injuries.
Burkan rockets were first used by Hezbollah during the heavy urban warfare against rebels in Syria over the last few years. They are capable of inflicting heavy damage but are only effective over short distances.

Since Oct. 8, Hezbollah has now fired over 1,000 projectiles at Israel, including rockets, mortar grenades, anti-tank missiles, and suicide drones, Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said.
On Monday, other attacks against Israel included a 25-rocket barrage at Kiryat Shmona and Metula, which caused no damage or injuries, and three suicide drones armed with explosives, one of which hit another IDF base, also causing some damage but no injuries.
Throughout the day, terrorists also carried out dozens of additional drone and anti-tank missile attacks.

“We reacted very aggressively to these attacks,” IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Daniel Hagari told the press on Monday evening.
In what Hagari called “very broad attacks,” the IDF thwarted several terror squads attempting to carry out rocket and anti-tank missile attacks.
In addition, Israeli fighter jets, drones and helicopter gunships destroyed several targets in southern Lebanon, including operational headquarters and terrorist infrastructures.
According to Lebanese media reports, the home of a member of parliament for Hezbollah in the town Mis al-Jabal was damaged in the retaliatory attacks.
