Advertisers pull business on X; social media site changes its policy regarding phrase 'From the river to the sea'
Businessman Elon Musk tweeted on Saturday on his X account: "'Decolonization', 'from the river to the sea' and similar euphemisms necessarily imply genocide. Clear calls for extreme violence are against our terms of service and will result in suspension."

Musk's statement comes as an attempt to stop the departure of advertisers who pulled their business from the social media site X, after seeing how their ads were embedded alongside antisemitic and neo-Nazi posts.
Major advertisers have stopped advertising on Elon Musk's X social media site, the latest of which are entertainment giants Warner and Paramount.
According to reports, Apple and Disney have also now stopped all advertising on X, and movie studio Lionsgate has confirmed that ads on the platform have been suspended.
Computer giant IBM previously halted its advertising, and according to the New York Times, the company had planned to advertise on X to the tune of $1 million this quarter.
The media watchdog group Media Matters for America showed how advertisements from IBM, Apple and the software company Oracle appeared on X alongside posts in support of Adolf Hitler and Nazi ideology. X said its system does not intentionally place brands "actively near this type of content."
Musk announced this morning on his X account that early next week a lawsuit will be filed on behalf of the X corporation against Media Matters for America because of these publications.
