18 people wounded, 4 seriously, in Hezbollah attack on Arab village in the Galilee
Arab communities in Israel's north are also victims of Hezbollah attacks
Six people were wounded on Wednesday afternoon in Arab al-Aramshe, a Bedouin town in Western Galilee, due to a direct hit from a Hezbollah attack.
Magen David Adom (MDA) medics, together with an IDF medical force, initially treated the six wounded men. all in their 30s.
The victims of the Hezbollah attack were later taken to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, where one was listed in serious condition, one in moderate condition, and the other four treated for light injuries.
About an hour after the attack, MDA reported that 13 people were injured as a result of the attacks, with only 4 being moderately or seriously wounded. At the time of publication, there was no update on the condition of the seriously or moderately wounded individuals.
This is not the first time that a Bedouin community has come under fire since the start of the Oct. 7 conflict.
Over the past six months, following the Hamas attacks and the subsequent involvement by Hezbollah forces, the residents of the Western Galilee region, which includes many Arab towns and communities, have dealt with repeated fire from the Iranian-backed terror group in Lebanon.
Preliminary reports indicated that a vehicle was targeted in the attack that resulted in injuries to the six men.
Shortly after reports of the first strike, emergency air raid sirens sounded in the area again. Residents reported that Hezbollah fired a second time as the emergency personnel arrived to treat the wounded.
Israel Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman responded to the Hezbollah attacks by blaming Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition.
“This is the 194th day that the Conception Cabinet has lost and abandoned the residents of the north who have become ducks at Hezbollah's shooting range. Hezbollah must be pushed over the Litani [River] immediately,” Liberman stated on social media.
According to Reuters, Hezbollah took responsibility for the attack, announcing that it had launched drones toward Arab al-Aramshe in response to the IDF's targeting of two senior Hezbollah officials on Tuesday.
Residents near the northern border reported Israeli strikes close to the town of Ita al-Shaab in southern Lebanon. Shortly after, the IDF reported that Israel Air Force fighter jets struck a military building near Ita al-Shaab, where Hezbollah terrorists were staying.
The IDF announced that several launches were identified crossing from Lebanese territory towards the area of Arab al-Aramshe and that the IDF had struck the sources of fire.
The Lebanese news site Al-Manar, owned by Hezbollah, reported an airstrike deep in Lebanon, in the Baalbek region.
On Tuesday, two UAVs fell in Beit Hillel without activating siren alarms. Two crashes were also detected on Tuesday near Kiryat Shmona.
Several hours after the original publication of this article, the IDF announced that 14 reservists of the 6th Brigade were wounded in the direct hit on the community center in Arab al-'Aramshe. Six soldiers were seriously wounded, two were moderately wounded, and six others sustained minor injuries. The soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment and their families were informed. The IDF also reported that it struck the source of fire in response.
